Soils are complex mixtures of minerals, water, air, organic matter, and a huge number of organisms that are the decaying remains of once-living things. It forms on the land's surface and is known as the "skin of the earth."






Soil is the combination of Solid, Liquid & Gas is called three-phase system and mainly the soil is formed by weathering of rocks this weathering is a natural process.

How the Soil was Formed?

The Soil is formed naturally through weathering of rocks

Weathering of Rocks:

 Weathering of rocks takes place by the breaking up of particles into small pieces. The weathering of rocks is mainly having two types

They are,
  1. Physical weathering  (Mechanical weathering)
  2. Chemical Weathering

Physical weathering occurs when the rock particles were breaking up by various effects.
Those effects are,
  1. Impact & Abrasion 
  2. Through Air & Water
  3. Splitting action of ice
